  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • ½ tsp ground white pepper
  • Salt to taste

For Garnish:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Chopped cilantro
  • A drizzle of chili oil (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Wonton Filling

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, ginger, garlic, green onions, and cornstarch.
  2. Stir until well combined and slightly sticky.

Step 2: Wrap the Wontons

  1. Place a small teaspoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper.
  2. Moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press the edges to seal.
  3. Take the two corners and bring them together, pinching them to form the classic wonton shape.
  4. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.

Step 3: Make the Broth

  1. In a large pot, heat the chicken broth over medium heat.
  2. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, and white pepper.
  3. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, then strain out the ginger and garlic.

Step 4: Cook the Wontons

  1. Bring a separate pot of water to a gentle boil.
  2. Drop the wontons in and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the top.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and place into serving bowls.

Step 5: Assemble the Soup

  1. Ladle the hot broth over the cooked wontons.
  2. Garnish with green onions, cilantro, and chili oil (if using).

Tips for the Best Wonton Soup

✔ Use fresh wonton wrappers for the best texture.
✔ Don’t overcrowd the pot when cooking wontons—cook them in batches if necessary.
✔ For extra flavor, add bok choy, mushrooms, or baby spinach to the broth.
✔ Freeze extra wontons by placing them on a baking sheet in a single layer, then transferring them to a freezer bag once frozen. Cook from frozen without thawing.

This easy and delicious wonton soup is perfect for a cozy night in. Enjoy!
