S’mores are a classic campfire treat made with toasted marshmallows, melty chocolate, and graham crackers. Making them at home is easy and a fun way to enjoy this sweet and gooey treat anytime.
Ingredients (for 8 s’mores)
- 16 graham cracker squares (8 full graham crackers, broken in half)
- 8 large marshmallows
- 4 ounces milk chocolate (or dark chocolate, broken into 8 pieces)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the graham crackers:
- Lay out 8 graham cracker halves on a flat surface. These will be the base for your s’mores.
2️⃣ Toast the marshmallows:
- There are several ways to toast marshmallows:
- Over an open flame: If you have a campfire, toast the marshmallows by placing them on the end of a skewer or roasting stick, holding them over the flame until golden brown and melty.
- In the oven: Place marshmallows on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven for 1-2 minutes, watching closely so they don’t burn.
- On a stovetop: Use a long skewer or fork to toast the marshmallows over the burner flame.
3️⃣ Assemble the s’mores:
- Once the marshmallows are toasted, place a piece of chocolate on each graham cracker half.
- Quickly place a toasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate, and then press the second graham cracker half on top to form a sandwich.
4️⃣ Serve:
- Let the s’mores sit for a minute to allow the chocolate to melt from the heat of the marshmallow. Enjoy while they’re warm and gooey!
Enjoy!
