Ingredients

  • 8 Twinkies, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1 lb (450g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) strawberry glaze (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries
  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar.
  2. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to release their juices.
Step 2: Make the Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Step 3: Assemble the Shortcake
  1. Place the bottom halves of the Twinkies on a serving plate.
  2. Spoon a layer of strawberries (with their juices) over the Twinkies.
  3. Add a generous layer of whipped cream.
  4. Place the top halves of the Twinkies over the whipped cream.
  5. Spoon more strawberries and whipped cream on top.
  6. Drizzle with strawberry glaze if using.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
  • Let the dessert chill for 10-15 minutes before serving for the flavors to meld.
