  • 4 cups frozen peas, thawed
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, diced or shredded
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or dill, chopped (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Peas

  1. Thaw frozen peas by running them under cold water or letting them sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain well and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2: Make the Dressing

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Step 3: Assemble the Salad

  1. In a large bowl, combine thawed peas, cheddar cheese, bacon, and red onion.
  2. Pour the dressing over the salad and gently toss to coat everything evenly.

Step 4: Chill and Serve

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill (if using) before serving.

Tips & Variations

  • Make it healthier: Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or light mayo.
  • Add crunch: Mix in chopped celery, almonds, or sunflower seeds.
  • Spicy kick: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Extra protein: Stir in diced hard-boiled eggs or shredded chicken.

This Pea Salad is creamy, delicious, and perfect for any occasion. Enjoy!
